Well, Dave and I are expecting our first baby! This is us at Tavern on the Green in NYC when I broke the news to Dave.
This is the picture of his first reaction. I had gotten him a Father's Day card. It had a baby elephant holding the tail of a daddy elephant. It said, "Daddy, I'll follow you anywhere!" Isn't that so sweet? I thought it was appropriate for a military family! As soon as he saw it he knew!
I was so happy to share the news with Dave. He was so happy and it was great news for him to hear before leaving on his long trip. We have this incredible event to look forward to and keep our minds off the long separation. In fact, I am 10 weeks along and he is due to be home right before the baby comes... some time around the end of March. We had our first sonogram and heard the heartbeat 2 days before Dave had to leave. It was amazing. Our baby was already bouncing all around and had the most beautiful heartbeat! I have never heard anything so beautiful in my life. Our eyes were like saucers as we watched the baby dance around. We are not finding our what the gender is. We have always wanted to be surprised. I can't wait!
I have been soooo soooooo sooooo sick! I hope the 24 hour sickness I have been having is ending with the 1st trimester! I do have meds, and they have been a blessing...especially since I am back at school again!
Please keep us in your prayers. It is hard to be apart during this incredible experience, but God is in control and has all of us in His hands and His timing is perfect. We are so blessed to be given this opportunity, and I look so forward to sharing this amazing experience with Dave.
By the way, I am going to Texas from late November to mid-January. I am planning trips to College Station, Dallas, and Tyler to try and see as many of my Texas friends as I can! I hope it works out! We'll keep in touch!
