5 Year Anniversary trip to Aruba!!

Dave and I were so blessed to celebrate our 5 year anniversary in Aruba this summer. Our anniversary was May 29, but since Dave is currently deployed, we were unable to be together on that day... However... we had some SERIOUS FAVOR poured out on us this summer and I was able to go and see him in one of his ports. He literally hopped off the ship and met me at the airport and whisked me away to our beautiful all-inclusive resort on the beautiful island of ARUBA! Dave was able to mentally check out of all Navy duties and have some much needed R&R! I was so glad to be there with him and share this vacation of a lifetime with him!
(At the airport... first time to see each other since Easter!)

The beach view from our room.

The pool view from our room.
We enjoyed the pool and the beach everyday and even went on a snorkeling tour. We got to snorkel above a shipwreck, that was so cool! The water is perfect as you can see below... crystal clear and the perfect temp!

We had massages on the beach... UH-MAZING... and very much appreciated from me, the "temporarily single" Mommy and Dave who has had to share a room the size of a closet with 5 other smelly dudes!

We had several romantic dinner dates and got to see the sun set behind the horizon at each one. The food was incredible! as was the service! Aruba really is "The Happy Island!"

and YES... we were very Happy to eat this INCREDIBLE sushi!!!

Look at that view! Loved it!

The front of our Resort. The Occidental Grand Aruba.

Posing in the lobby before dinner! He is so handsome!!

Dinner on the balcony right before sunset.

Our AMAZING dinner at L' Olio's the night before we left...

Caesar Salad
Fettucini with Truffles
Lasagna
Spinach Ravioli with White Wine Sauce
Tiramisu
and Merlot...
YUM!

Mine are the cute pedicured ones!
No offense Hun!

The perfect way to end the perfect trip! I miss him so much already and can't wait to have him home again!
Thank you Lord for your provision... even for the luxury of this trip! You knew we needed some time together and you REALLY delivered! Thank you for keeping Your hand on Dave as he serves You and our country. You are so good, all the time! Thank you for the most amazing last 5 years and for all that You have in store for the next 5 and beyond!

Wow, I'm tearing up reading this post - I cannot imagine being away from my love for that long - I'm SO THANKFUL that you two had this amazing time together, that all the details worked out, that Dave got a much needed break, and that you got some much needed one on one time away from everything else!!! I am praying for God's continued protection over Dave and continued comfort for you. Love you and wish you were CLOSER!!!

That's awesome! I am so happy you got away for a relaxing and romantic time together. I was thinking Roatan for our 20th anniversary trip but so many people going to Aruba is making me have 2nd thoughts. What to do? Chaz is as precious as ever. Hope we get to see you again soon????
