Merry Christmas From Texas!
Our Gorgeous Texas Tree!
"The Stars at Night
Are Big and Bright...
Deep in the Heart of Texas!"
That is actually what we sing this year instead of "Oh Christmas Tree."
Ladi (Mom's)
Maci (Mine)
Buddi (Mom's)
Sassi Grace (Mom's)
I'M HOME! I have sooo enjoyed being home at my mom's in Houston, Texas for the past 3 weeks. Maci and I are being pampered, fed really well and we are just loving being in Texas! When mom is at work, I am resting and hanging out at the house with all the dogs Maci, Sassi, Ladi, and Buddi(see pics above)! When she is home, we are either watching a movie, eating, walking, playing with the dogs, eating, shopping (I LOVE shopping in Texas!) or did I mention eating?! I love eating... don't worry, heartburn is keeping me from overdoing it! Bring on the Tums!
Mom has totally redecorated my room... it is now the "baby's room" and I am just borrowing it until she/he gets here! It is painted a beautiful mint green and has new wood floors. It is so comfy cozy and I spend A LOT of time in there sleeping, playing on my laptop and watching John and Kate Plus 8! (love that show!) and Bringing Home Baby!
We spent Thanksgiving at Grandma's in the Hill Country near San Antonio! Wow, how beautiful! We fed Grandpa's cows. My Grandma has named each and every one... and watched the deer come to feed each evening. They have 138 beautiful acres that back up to a river and behind the river are the gorgeous Texas hills, and they are pretty big! Watching the sun set behind them each night was so amazing and peaceful. God's creation is so, what's the word?... Creative!
I am missing Dave terribly! It is pretty hard not having him here for the holidays, but in a way having the holidays helps the deployment go by a little faster b/c there is so much to do. Christmas parties, programs, dinners and visiting old friends helps to make the time pass, but nothing can replace Dave's presence. We e-mail everyday and get to talk almost every weekend. He is getting a little stir crazy and misses his family, although sometimes I think he misses Maci the most b/c he asks about her ALL THE TIME! I should have sent her with him. I always tell her she would have made a great ship dog! Please continue to pray for Dave, for his safety, his spirit to be uplifted and for he and his buddies to have the greatest Christmas possible! He is a Hero for our country and I am so proud of him!
How do you like that tree? (see pics above) There is no prettier Christmas tree than a Texas Tree! Love that!!! Mom and I are so proud of it!
I hope all of you are having a terrific Christmas season and enjoying your time with friends and family. Keep in touch!
